Church of the Most High (CMH) was established by (late) Pastor. S.Kanagasundaram and (late) Prophetess. Mrs. Kantha Kanagasundaram in the year 1972.

 

Pas. Kanagasundaram was born and brought up in a small village namely Kollamadugu near Chittoor on the border of Andrapradesh / Tamilnadu states. Then his parents moved to Katpadi near Vellore where he graduated from school. After his graduation, he joined as Health Inspector in the Tamilnadu state government medical services. Then he got married to Mrs Kantha Kanagasundaram who was working in Tamilnadu state electricity board and they finally settled down in EB colony Vellore.

 

While working with secure and comfortable government job, Pas, Kanagasundaram with heavy thirst for the souls, will go to many villages in the evening after his work in his bicycle to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Whenever off from work, he and his friends (Bro.Jones and Bro.Magimaidas) will kneel down, cry and pray for hours together so much so that their legs will become numb after 3 to 4 hours. At the end of the prayer, his wife will help him to get up and then he will help his friends to get up.

 

One day when pastor Kanagasundaram and his friends were about to pray, he also invited his wife to join in the prayer. When they were just few minutes into the prayer, Holy Spirit descended upon them like in the day of Pentecost. The others in the family afraid and ran out as it was like the voice of a thunder. Holy Spirit anointed Mrs. Kantha with the gift of Prophesy on that day and called out Pastor Kanagasundaram for full time ministry.

 

While Pastor Kanagasundaram was preparing to resign from Government job, his parents & family strongly opposed and disapproved. They insisted not to resign well paid and secure government job. He was broken in his heart and went to Vellore Fort ground to pray lonely for peace and clarity. In that prayer, God showed him a vision, if you obey my calling, you will be my powerful priest. If you do NOT obey my calling, you will become a leper. When he shared what God showed him to Mrs. Kantha, they cried, prayed and decided obey the calling of God. He immediately resigned from Government job and planned to run & live family life only with the salary of Mrs Kantha.

 

Thus, accepting God’s call to serve Him full time, he left his job and established Church of the Most High on 01/June/1972 in Gandhi nagar, Vellore. He started doing Ministries in Vellore and Ambur areas. Most of the time he ministered in the surrounding villages, namely Agaramchery, Odiyathoor, Madanoor, Chinna Thottalam, Kill krishna puram, and Many villages at Ambur. Through him Many people accepted Jesus Christ as their saviour and got baptized. Many were set free from devil bondages (visit testimony page). He established Churches at Vellore and Ambur. Mrs, kantha stood as a strong pillar of CMH ministries with her gift of Prophesy. She managed the family throughout with her salary and retired from Tamilnadu Electricity board in 2000.
